What started out as a group of friends with a common interest for A Cappella singing, turned into The Crossroads. With a multilingual repertoire ranging from Mando, English, Canto and Korean, their name aptly represents their versatile music arrangements and vibrant personalities of the members. The Crossroads captured the hearts of many when they produced their first showcase last year. They went on to perform alongside other local artistes at The Stage@Jericho, organised by YMCA.
C Majors is a 7-part A Cappella band made up of friends who hail from all walks of life. They are a fun and outgoing band that sings modern pop with oldies sprinkled in. While all of their members have performed individually, C Majors was officially formed in 2016 when they were asked to perform at Changi General Hospital for Christmas. Since then, they’ve been taking to the stage together, performing at events such as the East Asia YMCA Urban Network 2017, and IGNITE!Capella, with venues from Our Tampines Hub to The Esplanade.
New Recording 47 (NR47) is a contemporary A Cappella group made out of 5 singing mouths. Up until May 2018, they were a bunch of strangers with unique vocal styles. Now, they are NR47, performing an eclectic range of songs in a colourful spectrum of languages and genres. NR47 had opportunities to collaborate with local artistes
Shaun is a local aspiring musician who discovered his love for music, mainly the piano/keys and vocals, at just the age of 12. He is on his journey towards becoming a R&B/Soul singer. He is also part of local A Cappella groups called the C Majors and New Recording 47. Slowly making his way into the local music scene, he believes that his purpose as a musician is to inspire and share his life experiences through music.
Amanda is an aspiring musician who graduated from RMIT Music Industry. She is influenced by artists such as Sara Bareilles and Jason Mraz. Having started her singing journey since primary school, Amanda has released her debut single – “You Don’t Exist”– in 2018 and continues to produce other originals. She is also a member of local A Cappella group, New Recording 47.
Gautham (known by G.V.K.) aspires to make change to people around him and spread positivity through his actions as well as music. He is known for his bubbly & cheerful personality. Taking inspiration from artistes like Whitney Houston, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga & Sara Bareilles, Gautham always attempts his best to captivate his audience with his voice.
KYLLA Crew (pronounced as Ki-ller Crew) is a quintet K-Pop Cover Group from Singapore formed in 2016. The group name is a play on the acronym of the group members name – Kam Ting, Kathy, Ying Qing, Lixin, and Lynn. Their repertoire of dance covers includes those of Black Pink, Red Velvet, Itzy, MOMOLAND, and more. They have performed at De Cloud’s showcase, “Vocale: Gratitude” in 2018 and at Tampines West Community Club’s Youth Flea Market in 2019.
Maveric (Mavis and Bea) is an aspiring singing duo who has been singing together since their choir and acappella days in poly. This built their foundation to transcend through genres like Pop, Classics and Ballads. Soulful and melodious with their harmonies and musical expression, Maveric has captured the hearts of all ages during competitions like Impresario (2013) and Voice of Nanyang (2018). They are also active members in local A Cappella group, The Crossroads, and have also arranged music for the group.
Like how the most pleasant surprises are always the unexpected ones, The Second Child started off their journey from a lucky encounter in Muzeka – a performing arts CCA in SIT. Since then, the acoustic trio have journeyed together in various performances such as NDP Punggol Heartland Celebration. They enjoy doing acoustic covers of popular songs, and incorporating their own jazz renditions sometimes.
